It's been a busy few weeks here at KRS. Watch our recent interview with Global…
Intertraffic Amsterdam – the world’s leading anual exhibition for the traffic and mobility industry – took place last week over a jam-packed 3 days (March 20-23), bringing together market leaders, experts, and innovators from around the globe.
This year’s exhibition saw the introduction of a new dedicated event, the Intertraffic Startups Pavilion (ITSUP), designed to provide startups a competitive platform to pitch their innovative ideas directly to industry veterans, and to foster productive collaboration. As Intertraffic explains:
“The number of traffic technology and smart mobility startups is ever growing, contributing significantly to the innovative character of the industry. Consequently, commercial businesses, cities and government authorities are keen to cooperate with these new entrepreneurs.”
Each day, startups from 19 countries around the world gathered to pitch their ideas to a panel of industry leaders and innovation experts, and were challenged to offer unique answers to a variety of technological problems, such as infrastructure, traffic safety, and freight logistics.
On day 2 of the event, Sensys Gatso and SWOV challenged companies to present innovative solutions to help identify and analyze road safety risks – including smartphone use and dangerous driving.
And KRS answered the call. In a 3 minute pitch, CTO Josh Poulain wowed the judges with his presentation on DriveCare, an app designed to stop distracted driving at its source: the driver’s cellphone.
Beating out 4 other top startups in the automotive & smart mobility field, KRS was named the winner of the ITSUP Challenge, a victory which brought with it a collaborative offer from the Openbaar Ministrie to work together on improving traffic safety.
Yes, there’s yet another collaboration happening at the ITSUP Challenge: @SWOV and @SensysGatso are going to work together with @getdrivecare and @SD_Insights on a challenge set out by and together with @Accenture, @TheNextWeb and Goodmesh! #ITAdam18 pic.twitter.com/JJxL15bgFm
